Welcome to North Town Primary School and Nursery. I am extremely lucky to be head teacher of this wonderful school. It is important to the school staff that our children come to school happy and with a buzz of excitement and leave full of enthusiasm about their school day and experiences.

We have over 430 pupils at the school with a further 70 on roll at our nursery. Our aim is to provide all of our children with opportunities to experience a broad, balanced, exciting and rich curriculum. It is important that children experience a wide range of subjects and topics to unlock learning, identify skills and develop them.

Extra curricular experiences are important to us and we like to make use of our locality as well as organise trips and residentials.

We enjoy our sport at North Town and very much promote the importance of winning well and losing well, showing respect to other teams and officials and enjoying all the many events we take part in.

We are part of The Richard Huish Trust and work closely with 4 other primary schools including Lyngford Park, Nerrols, North Curry and West Buckland as well as Pyrland Secondary School and Richard Huish College.

We are extremely lucky to have access to the college to make use of their facilities including their theatre, sports hall and field and classrooms.

The North Town community are extremely supportive and it is important to us that we work together to give the children the best education possible. It is vital that parents and carers are supported with how they can help with learning at home and we aim to invite parents to meetings so that they can learn about the teaching of phonics, reading, maths and much more.

The years attending North Town Primary School and Nursery will fly and it is our aim to equip the children with as much skills and knowledge to prepare them for the rest of their educational journey and the future.
