Louise Wheadon

Parent Governor & Chair of Governors

I have been a Parent Governor at North Town School and Nursery’s Board since May 2021 and became Chair of the governors at the start of the 2022 academic year. For me, it is particularly important to help develop the school as I have two sons here and the school will therefore be a part of our lives for a long period of time. I want school to be a happy and fulfilling experience for them and all of the children that join.

I am currently a Financial Planner at Close Brothers Asset Management and therefore bring to the school over twenty years of diverse experience in financial management; and the empathy for teachers after having to “attempt” home-schooling through Covid. I also bring a passionate interest in the health and well-being of the children, staff and community.

I feel this is a wonderful and proactive school and it’s visible to me every day, that they always do their best and strive to improve.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to be part of the governing board at North Town. As a primary school teacher, I am passionate about teaching and learning, and believe in guiding and supporting children to develop a love of learning and an internal drive to be the best they can be in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. Having had a daughter attend North Town, I know that the children receive an exceptional level of education – I hope to support the school in continuing to provide an outstanding experience for the children and wider community.
