1st March 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to attend the phonics lessons at North Town throughout the week. It was lovely to see so many of you at North Town and we really appreciated your kind feedback. I know the children were really excited to have you join the lessons. Thank you to Mrs Richards and the staff for making this opportunity possible.

Have a smashing weekend everyone.

Councillor John Hunt

Councillor John Hunt kindly visited North Town on Wednesday to join me on the main road to observe the busy end to the school day. We are continuing to push for a better crossing and more visible signs encouraging motorists to reduce their speed.

North Town Nursery

Earlier in the week I wrote to the Nursery parents and carers with the wonderful news that Shelby Norman is expecting her first baby in July. We are all absolutely thrilled for her and her family. We were absolutely delighted when Shelby returned to North Town and became our nursery manager. She has a brilliant team of staff around her and we are pleased to announce that Kirstie Porter will stepping up to acting manager from mid June and that Rebecca Hawley will be acting deputy manager. The North Town Nursery staff are a smashing team and will continue to provide an excellent experience for all children that attend.

North Town Wraparound

Just a reminder to all parents and carers that we often have space at our wraparound in the mornings. If ever you need to use wrapround please book a place via MCAS app. As ever, if you are unsure, speak to a member of the office team.

School Disco

Just a reminder that next Friday (8th March) is time for the children (and staff) to get their dancing shoes on at the North Town Disco. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising the events and to the staff and volunteers for ensuring we can run them. Please look out for the Parent Mail with all the information.

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is on Friday 15th March and we will be inviting the children to come to school in mufti of which an item clothing is red. We will be asking for a donation on this day for Comic Relief.

Touch Typing – Message from Miss Fairfax

We’re excited to share a fantastic resource that can make a positive impact on your child’s computer skills—BBC Dance Mat Typing.  In our increasingly digital world, proficient typing is a valuable skill that can benefit your child both academically and personally. BBC Dance Mat typing offers a fun and engaging way for children to improve their typing speed and accuracy through interactive lessons and games.

Feel free to explore the website with your child and turn typing practice into an enjoyable shared activity. Let’s empower our children with the skills they need for success in the digital age!
