As we come to the end of the first half term of the academic year at North Town Primary School and Nursery, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kindness and support. We have a wonderful community at North Town.
INSET Day Tomorrow
A reminder that we are closed to children tomorrow as we have an INSET day. We look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 31st October.
Newsletters
We are aiming to send out a newsletter every Friday to keep parents and carers updated with as much information as possible. These are emailed out and also loaded onto our new website. Please do take the time to read the newsletter so that you are aware of everything that is happening at the school.
Harvest
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who kindly donated items for our Harvest Assembly. It was wonderful having Reverend Wilkie and Reverend Fabian lead the assembly with our visitor from the Open Door charity. He was extremely grateful for all the donations. As you would expect, the children were brilliant!
Parents Evening
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended parents’ evening on Wednesday and also for the many comments of our new set up. It was super to see so many of you and to have some time to stop and chat for a few minutes before meeting the teachers.
The World Cup
I received a beautifully written and persuasive letter from Thomas in Year Four a few weeks ago asking if I would allow for the children to watch the first England World Cup game at school as it is on Monday 21st November at 1pm. A huge well done to Thomas on persuading me!
I am aware there will be some children that would rather not watch the game – a different activity will be arranged for them at this time.
Plans for Wrap Around
Mr Kerton will be sending out a survey after half term to parents and carers for thoughts and feedback to help with our plans for when we take over the running of our breakfast and after school care in the summer term. We would really welcome your ideas and input.
Class 3LH
I am delighted to inform you that Mrs. Holmes will be expecting her first child in the New Year.
Following recent teacher interviews, we are delighted to announce that Mr. White will be joining the North Town staff team in the New Year to look after class 3LH.
Mufti Day Reminders
Just a reminder we have three mufti days in November. These will be on:
Friday 4th November – a monetary donation.
Friday 18th November for Children in Need – a monetary donation.
Friday 25th November – donations of chocolate for the chocolate tombola at the Christmas Fayre.
Please only donate what you can and if you can.
Disco
Friday 11th November will be an opportunity for the children to get their dancing shoes on and perform their best dance moves at our school Disco. The PTA will communicate the times after half-term.
