Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another jam packed week at North Town with trips to a farm, trips to the library, a netball tournament against local schools at North Town and a visit from England cricketer and Somerset legend Jack Leach today.
Congratulations to Olivia in Year 6 on being handed the captaincy for the hardball cricket team for the 2024 season. We know that she will lead the team with confidence and give the rest of the team much encouragement and support.
A huge well done to Eddie Adfield who represented North Town at the UK Under 11’s Trampolining Championships last weekend. Eddie came second and was clearly so proud with his success. I was lucky enough to see video footage of his two routines and was stunned at the twists, turns and somersaults! What a talented young man!
Have a smashing weekend everyone!
Mr Braund
Nursery Staff
A huge congratulations to our three Nursery apprentices, Cody Norman, Amy Halsey and Yasmine Qureshi, who have recently qualified and completed their apprenticeship in Early Childhood Studies. They are brilliant practitioners (as are the whole team) and we are thrilled for them. They will continue as North Town Nursery as fully qualified practitioners.
Sam White
Sam White will be leaving North Town at the end of the Spring Term. Sam has been at North Town these past months covering two maternity covers and he has now secured a permanent position at Holway School. A permanent teaching role is something he could not turn down. We are grateful for everything Sam has done these past months. I am delighted to confirm that Nicki Reece will be joining the North Town team for the summer term and will be teaching in Kingston Black on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Abby Chalcroft (5CK) will be teaching Kingston Black on a Thursday and Friday.
Donna Griffiths
Donna Griffiths will be joining the support staff team for the summer term to replace Mary Duke. Donna is already part of the North Town team as she works in our Wrap Around and also is part of the catering team.
Gemma Connah
Gemma will sadly be leaving North Town at the end of the spring term for an exciting new opportunity. I just want to thank Gemma for all she has done for North Town over the years and wish her all the very best for the future. Keep in touch Gemma.
New Learning Assistant
We have a new Learning Support Assistant joining us after Easter. Laura Lawrence will be starting at North Town on Monday 22nd April.
Rachel Stoodley
We have successfully recruited a new Admin Assistant at North Town. Rachel Stoodley will start at North Town on Monday 15th April. A huge thank you to the existing office team. Sarah, Jane and Louise for the way they have ensured the office has continued to operate these past weeks.
