Dear parents/carers
It is the end of another busy week at North Town and we are now in December. The Christmas trees have arrived and we have the Christmas Fair to look forward to tomorrow.
With the news of Mr Kerton’s exciting new opportunity at North Town, Mrs Screech has kindly agreed to go back to full time hours. We have also appointed Mrs Richards as an Early Years Phase Leader, Mrs Hayes as a Key Stage One Leader and Miss Newstead as a Key Stage Two Leader. Many congratulations to them all.
Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair will be taking place from 5.30 pm until 7:00 pm this evening with the choir singing to open the fair. It would be lovely to see you there!
Wellington Maths Challenge
A huge well done to our year 6 pupils, Flora and Panos, who competed in the Wellington Maths Challenge 2022 last Saturday, 26th November. These children were selected for their excellence in maths, to compete in this regional event against almost 60 other schools from the Southwest area. They were tasked with answering 25 extremely challenging questions that aimed to stretch the mathematical thinking of our children to its limits. Unfortunately, two of our four incredible mathematicians were unable to make the event due to illness but even with half a team, Flora and Panos worked brilliantly together and very respectably answered over half of the questions correctly. As not all of our children were able to make the event, we will be giving these children another chance to have a go at the paper before the term finishes. A final well done to Panos and Flora!

Children will be allowed to bring in party clothes to change into after lunch.
House Treat – Wednesday 14th December
The House treat winners will be announced in the final Celebration Assembly next Friday 9th December and the winning house will be watching a film in the hall and having popcorn on Wednesday 14th December. The winners are able to wear mufti for the whole day.

Vocabulary Day
On Thursday 12th January, we will be taking part in Vocabulary Day. This will be a day to immerse children in the wonderful world of words! Alongside the other Richard Huish Primary Schools, we will be inviting the children and staff to dress up as a word (a verb or adjective in particular) such as spotty, starry, mischievous, sprint, illuminate, festive or even ridiculous!
Have a lovely restful weekend everyone!
