Dear Parents and Carers,
I left Richard Huish College on Thursday evening so incredibly proud of what I had just witnessed, more than 60 North Town children performing at the end of year music concert performing with so much confidence. To perform in front of 160 people is special and they did it brilliantly. What talented children we have at North Town. A huge thank you to Mrs Purchase, Mrs Tidmarsh, Mrs Clifton, Mr Barrett and Mrs Bale for making this possible and giving the children this opportunity. A huge thank you to Richard Huish College for once again being so supportive and allowing us to use their theatre.
Wishing you all an enjoyable weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr Braund
North Town Wraparound – Important Information
Due to the staffing numbers and trying to maintain an excellent provision for all children, we have decided to cap the numbers of children attending wraparound to 45.
However, if you find that you have an emergency where you need wraparound and have not already booked, please give the school a call and we should be able to help you.
We have also had a few children arriving at wraparound who have not been booked in for a session.
You MUST make sure that you have pre-booked your child’s space on the session, please do not assume this will be ok and arrive with them. You are able to checked booked sessions on the MCAS app, if you are struggling to do this, please pop to the school office and we can show you how.
Wraparound – Donations
If you have any old school shirts/shirts you no longer need, wraparound will gladly take them off your hands to use as aprons for the children when they take part in crafting/painting activities. If you have any materials/buttons or items that could be used for crafting/collage, these would also be appreciated. The school office will gladly receive any donations.
Wraparound – Bookings from September
The bookings are now live for September.
If you are currently paying using a childcare voucher provider or government gateway tax free childcare, then we will need you to make any payments for September bookings by 10th July at the latest. This is to give time for the payments to be sent to our account, to trace the payments and upload them to your MCAS account for you to make the bookings you will ned. We will not be monitoring the statement or payments received after Thursday 20th July until school resumes in September.
Year 4 Archie Project
Today, our year 4 children ended their ‘Archie’ journey by having a celebration with the Abbeyfield residents. The children engaged in games, discussion and songs with the residents and of course Archie. North Town will continue to engage next academic year with Reminiscence Learning Charity with the new Year 4 cohort.
Reading Party
Friday 14th July will be our final reading party. Well done to everyone for completing different reading challenges. We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your reading dens, listening to some beautiful reading and above all we have enjoyed watching you enjoy reading! This reading party marks the end of our Read for the Stars reading initiative and we’re very excited to start a new reading journey in September. There will be more information to follow over the coming weeks. Thank you for your continued support.
