Shelby Norman – Nursery Manager
Hi I’m Shelby, I am a level 6 practitioner with a BAhons early childhood studies degree. I am also the SENCo and thrive practitioner for the nursery. I have worked at North Town Nursery since I did my first student placement in 2016, I love working in Early Years because no two days are the same! Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks with my puppy and photography.
Kirstie Porter – Deputy Nursery Manager
Hi I’m Kirstie! I am the deputy manager in the nursery, I have a degree in early years childhood studies 0 – 8 years and am level 5 qualified. I have 4 children of my own, 2 girls age 14 and 12 and 2 boys age 5 and 6. I have previously worked in another nursery setting and absolutely love supporting the children to learn and grow. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family in the outdoors and making memories.
Rebecca Hawley – Nursery practitioner
Hi I’m Rebecca, I am a level 3 practitioner and have worked in early years for 8 years. In this time I have done many courses such as ‘behaviour is communication ‘ ‘ Autism and Social Communication needs in the EY’ and the ‘Terrific two’s course’ These have all extended my Knowledge to be able to better support children.
In 2019 I stopped working and had my eldest daughter Rosie, and then my youngest daughter Martha in 2023. I am really enjoying being back in an early years setting. In my spare time I enjoy gardening and spending time with my husband, daughters and family friends.
Christine Tohall – Nursery Practitioner (SENCO)
I am Christine, I am a level 3 practitioner with a NNEB National Diploma, and a level 2 in Understanding Autism.
I am fluent in French and German as English not being my first language.
Before joining North Town Nursery, I have worked as a nanny, in different setting such as school and other nurseries.
I especially love supporting children with special needs.
I have two children , Carolyn 20 and James 18 and two cats.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I also love swimming, walking, going out for a meal, or going to the cinema..
Cody Norman- Nursery Apprentice (ENCO)
Hi, my name is Cody Norman. I am currently working towards my level 3 early educator diploma and I am in the second year of my apprenticeship. My interest in my role was due to my interest in supporting Childrens development and wellbeing. I have recently taken on the role of nursery ENCO (equality named co-ordinator) and I am really looking forward to growing and training during this course to further support children:) In my spare time I enjoy dance and netball.
Yasmine Qureshi – Nursery Apprentice
Hello, I’m Yasmine. I am currently an apprentice in which I am working towards my level 3 Early Years Educator diploma. I enjoy working in early years because i think this is the time when children are full of curiosity and excitement for all things new, and so I enjoy supporting them with this new learning. Outside of work, I enjoy taking my dog for walks, spending time with family and friends and travelling.
Teagan Dare – Nursery Practitioner
Hi, I’m Teagan! I am a practitioner in the nursery and I am level 3 qualified. I love working in early years and supporting all the children. In my spare time I enjoy playing netball, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends
Amy Halsey – Nursery Apprentice
Hello I’m Amy, I am coming to the end of my level 3 course I might be new to working in a nursery but I do have 2 children of my own. I wanted to work with 2-4 year-olds’ as I think this is a fantastic age range. Their minds are full of wonder and the want to explore.Outside of work, college and family life I enjoy listening to music, creating things especially with crochet and being by the sea.
