21st November 2025
The weeks are racing and Christmas is gradually closing in. Just a reminder that our School Christmas Fayre is on Friday 5th December at from 3:30pm until 5:00pm. The PTA are working as hard as ever to ensure that the Fayre is the huge success like the previous ones. They are advertising for volunteers in this newsletter and your support would be greatly appreciated.
This week, our catering team had an unannounced visit from an auditor who inspected the food hygiene, quality of food and the dining room experience at North Town. I received the report on Wednesday evening and was delighted to see the team score so highly and to read ‘There is little more that the current team can do to ensure the full safety of the food for the children. All the processes are exemplary.’ It then went onto state that, ‘ The children all seemed to enjoy their lunch and see quite settle into the regime for being served. A good service in an enjoyable atmosphere.’ A huge well done to Emma, Bee, Lou and Kas for giving the children fabulous meals and excellent service.
Have a smashing weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr Braund
Please complete the Parent and Carer Survey 2025
You should have all received communications that our ‘Parent and Carer Survey’ has now gone live and I would really appreciate it if all parents and carers take the time to complete the survey and add comments in the box at the end of survey. We always appreciate how our school families work with us and come and speak to members of the senior leadership team on the gate or to teachers and staff at drop off and collection at classrooms. This is a further opportunity to feedback and comment on what you feel is working well at the school and areas to focus on. Please come and speak to a member of the SLT if you are having difficulty accessing the survey. Below is the web address and a separate QR code to access it.

The School House
The School House is nearing completion and will soon be the new home of our School Office team. The entrance to the school from 8:50 – 3:10 will change as parents will need to go through the new office area. SLT will still be in their usual positions from 8:40am – 8:50am and from 3:15pm – 3:25pm.
Sports at North Town
Last Monday, we had a group of girls take part in a football event at BTC. It was great to see lots of excitement, determination and teamwork. For some it was a great opportunity to play some more football, and the first time playing for others. A big well done to Annabelle, Arden, Leyla, Shivaani, Carys, Poppy, Lili, Alivia, Jewel and Olive!

Forest School for Y6’s
This Thursday, a group of Y6 children attended a Forest School afternoon at Otterhead Lakes, as a reward for their efforts helping with the Pippins Sports Day back in July. The children enjoyed making a fire and played some games during their afternoon. It was great to receive an email from the instructors with how well our Y6’s behaved and represented the school. Lastly, thank you to Joe Corrick for arranging this generous reward for our Y6 children.

Escape Rooms
North Town Primary School welcomed children from our Huish primary schools on Tuesday to compete in a Year 4 Escape Room Challenge. The whole event was organised by Miss Blake and she was supported by the North Town staff. It was a huge success and it was wonderful to see the children so excited and enthusiastic in solving maths problems to escape their classrooms. Nerrols Primary School were victorious on this occasion. Well done to all the children that took part and thank you to Miss Blake and the North Town team for making it possible.
DISCO
The children have been excitedly talking about the DISCOs these past days. Just a reminder for all parents and carers bringing children to the DISCOs to have the contact sheets completed and handed to staff as you pay to come in.
Can I please ask that parent and carers wait in the court yard area (by our new photo display) until the start time of the DISCO and staff will open the gate to welcome everyone in. Please do not try to access the main school premises earlier. It will only be parents picking up from Wraparound that will be able to access the premises.
I hope the children have the best time dancing to their favourite tunes.
North Town School Mini Police
Our Year 6 children are really enjoying being part of the Mini Police group. We have enjoyed finding out about the work of the PCSO’s, trying on their (very heavy!) protective vests, and helping with Community work by doing a litter-pick in a local park! We made some posters to put up around the school to discourage littering and one of our posters is on display in the near-by riverside Cafe!!
We have had opportunity to explore a Police van, where we had a go at switching on the blue (and red!) lights, tried to pick up the “magic red key that is used to open any door” and we also had a turn sitting in the secure “Cage” inside the van, which everyone found very exciting! This week we learned CPR which we are all very proud of!! More exciting things to do next week!

Christmas Card Competition
The Richard Huish Trust will be sending a special Christmas card this year, showcasing brilliant artwork from across the different schools. The children will have the opportunity to take part, by designing their own Christmas picture. They will receive a Christmas Card Competition sheet from their class teacher; they need to complete their Christmas picture at home and return to school by Thursday 27th November. The winning entry will be incorporated into the Richard Huish Trust Christmas card. Please ensure your design is flat (no 3D elements) so it can be easily digitised.
We look forward to seeing your wonderful Christmas pictures!
