Friday 23rd January

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was wonderful to witness some of our children take part in a school swimming gala last Friday at King’s School. The determination of our children and the children from the other primaries was evident. The sporting behaviour from all that took part was a joy to see and the atmosphere with lots of support, cheering and encouragement was fantastic.  I am sure the lasting memory of the North Town children was Clara diving in at the start of her race and completely soaking her headteacher (who was far too close to the pool in the excitement of the event!)

The weather has not been particularly kind to us this week and the forecast for next week is for more rain. Can I please ask that all children wear a coat to school to ensure that they stay as dry as possible.

Wishing you all a smashing weekend.

Best wishes

Mr Braund

New Office

This is a reminder that the office is now situated in the converted house by the front entrance to the school. The front and back gates will be open, as previously, between 8:40am and 8:50am and 3:15pm and 3:25pm. If you wish to come into school outside of these times, please use the buzzer on the gate to the right of the front main gate (pictured below).

Sports Events

On Monday, we had a basketball event after-school at Kingsmead school. Our basketballers enjoyed some training from Huish Tigers first, before playing some games with and against children from other schools. Well done all that took part.

Also on Monday, a group of Y3 and Y4 children took part in some netball games at Taunton School. We played friendly games, learning bits about the game and improving along the way. A great way to spend an afternoon and the children were treated to a doughnut to finish.

We had the area finals of Sportshall Athletics this Thursday. 18 children took part in the event, with all completing 2 races and 2 field events. We competed against 7 other schools across Somerset, finishing in 3rd place on the day. A fantastic achievement, one we are all very proud of. Well done!
