Friday 6th February 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
The past weeks have flown by and we are almost at half-term and half way through the academic year! The children looked fabulous in their numbers today as part of number day! We are really grateful for your kind contributions this morning and will be passed onto the NSPCC.
A huge congratulations to Clara and Thomas who represented the school in the 2026 Look Who’s Talking event at West Buckland Primary School last night. They were absolutely brilliant with how they spoke with so much enthusiasm, clarity and confidence. They also memorised everything! I watched in amazement and with so much pride.
I have seen lots of very proud children this week excited to show me their writing. Children from Year Four showed me their writing based on Charlie and the Chocolate factory! It was amazing and took me back to forty four years ago when I was eight and read this wonderful story for the first time.
Have a smashing weekend everyone.
Best wishes
Mr Braund

You will have received an email if you are invited to book a SEND parent meeting this time. These parents can choose to book either a SEND meeting or a parent evening slot.
Please only book one slot.
It is your responsibility to remember what slot you have booked and to let the school office know if you are no longer able to attend.
Online Gaming for Children
With all the recent wet weather, many children will have been using their time indoors to play online games. The Game guides link below gives information about some of the most popular games played by children/young people, including some that are PEGI 18 rated. It details the ‘hooks’ that are used to keep children engaged in the game, the hidden potential dangers within the games and also highlights these so that parents can make an informed decision about letting their child access these games. There are also details of the positive benefits that some of the games can have. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s use of gaming, please speak to the class teacher.
If you would also like information about how you can talk to your child about gaming safely, please see this link How to talk to children about gaming | Ygam
Sports Events
As well as the usual emails you will receive (more likely KS2), Mr Grave will also be putting QR codes by the front gate when we have any events coming up that are open to lots of children. Simply scan the code for more information and fill out the form if your child wants to take part. The current form up is an expression of interest for Y4/5/6 cricket starting in March.

On Tuesday evening, we hosted Parkfield Primary School for a netball friendly. Between our two schools we had a lot of boys that were interested so the teams consisted of more boys than girls for this event to give a different opportunity as opposed to the SASP events we have coming up in March that have a limit on the boys allowed per team. The games were played in great spirits with lots of healthy and fun competition. Well done to Carys, Clara, Sienna, Olive, Theo, Laurence, Rufus, Seth, Digby, Monty and Fergus for taking part.

Taunton Half Marathon
On Sunday 1st March Taunton Half Marathon is returning after a few years off, and we have some of our North Town community taking part. Starting after the adult’s race, there is a Kids Kilometre Fun Run for children aged 8 upwards. It costs £7.50 to sign up and all runners will receive a medal and a time. More info can be found on the poster below and the following link – Active South West : Taunton Half Marathon & Kids Kilometre Fun Run
