Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you so much for your kind donations of chocolate for our school Christmas Fayre! What a huge amount of chocolate (safely stored in the staffroom and NOT Mr Braund’s office!) It was great to see the children in their spots and non-uniform today for Children in Need and again, thank you for your kind donations. I will report the amount raised in next week’s newsletter.

It was wonderful to have some visitors from Pippins to see me on Wednesday showing me their wonderful writing about Little Red Riding Hood – they read their work beautifully to me and were very excited to show me their books.

On Wednesday morning we welcomed another group of parents to North Town for our open morning for the September 2025 intake. Our Year Six children (Florence, Georgie, Elsie, George, Alexandra and George) did an absolutely brilliant job of joining Mrs Richards and me on a tour of the school. They spoke so enthusiastically about their North Town experience and answered all questions with confidence and clarity.

There has been a buzz of excitement in the school all day today in anticipation of the North Town School Discos. Here is a reminder of the times for the Discos.

KS1 – 5:00 – 5:45

Year 3/4 – 6:00 – 6:45

Year 5/6 – 7:00 – 7:45

Have a smashing weekend everyone!

Mr Braund

Year 4 Escape Room Challenge

A huge thank you to Miss Blake for organising an Escape Room Challenge for Year 4 children across the Richard Huish schools on Wednesday. It must have taken her hours and hours to plan and prepare for the event. The North Town teaching staff provided support as ‘Escape Room’ security and monitors and were excellent. The children from all schools had a brilliant time and worked well in their teams to crack the maths codes in order to escape their rooms. Lyngford Park Primary School were the first school to escape their room successfully closely followed by the remaining schools.

Miss Blake did not let the headteachers from Lyngford Park, West Buckland and North Town off easily because she put them and some maths leads in a room together to take on the challenge!  The headteachers were very grateful to have two maths leads in their team! 😊

Sports Events

On Monday 11th we had a football tournament at Castle School, we had three, 8 minute matches. In the first match, the other school won 2-1 but an amazing goal from Bobbi. We won our second match 2-1, two awesome goals from Carys. Then our last match the score was 0-0. Arabella did great upfront with 3 attempts but just missed by a few inches. Our PE teacher Mr Grave was there cheering us on, Our team was Arabella, Olive, Bobbi, Carys, Megan K and our amazing goalkeeper Selene.
