Friday 21st March
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy Red Nose Day everyone! The children have looked fantastic with their crazy hair choices today and looked on with envy wishing I could have had some of the styles on show! A lesson for me is to not let Gracie and James Braund choose my crazy hair for the day! It seems like only yesterday I was watching the first Red Nose Day on TV back in 1986! It is fantastic that over £1.5 billion has been raised during this time and your kind donations today will be sent to Comic Relief. Thank you so much for your generosity.
This week I was visited by some children in Pippins who excitedly introduced me to their dinosaur creations and some amazing writing. I have also been visited by some children in Year One who showed their wonderful descriptive writing.
I also witnessed David aka Michael Jordan in Year 5, shooting a basketball from 14 metres and 28 centimetres (I measured it!) into the basketball hoop. His reaction at achieving this was fantastic and I was left absolutely stunned at his brilliance! Well done David!
Have a smashing weekend!
Best wishes,
Mr Braund

North Town Runathon
Join the North Town Runathon for the NSPCC!
Get ready to move! From Friday 28th March to Wednesday 2nd April, we’re challenging all children to run, walk, cycle, or scoot as much as possible to raise money for the NSPCC. Every step, pedal, and push will help support Mr. Grave’s London Marathon fund and make a difference for children in need. More information will go home on Monday 24th.
Here’s how to take part:
- Get Moving! Track how far you run, walk, cycle, or scoot over the six days using sheet’s that will be handed out on Monday.
- Raise Funds! Ask family and friends to sponsor your efforts – every penny counts! Money can be donated electronically or cash – all info will be shared on Monday.
- Make a Difference! All money raised will go to the NSPCC, helping to protect children and support families.
- The highest amount raised, and the furthest distance run/walked will receive a sweet treat along with a free place in an after-school club (GRV Coaching club) at school.
Let’s see how far we can go together! Are you ready for the challenge?
Sports Events
We went to Castle School to play in the Taunton Area Finals for netball. There was 8 schools that qualified, we played Bishops Henderson, Parkfield and St Andrews, winning two of those games. That meant we played in the 3rd place playoff and we ended up winning against Trull. We played really well and rotated positions. Because we did so well, we managed to get into the county finals.

On Thursday we played 4 football matches vs Queens College. There was some fantastic goalkeeping from Tom, Harry, Ollioe and Reuben. We tried to pass the ball lots which turned out amazing. George C scored our first goal in a game we lost 2-1, but we won our second game 1-0 and the last two we drew. The team was Ollie, Tom, Reuben, George C, George P, Kacper, Harry, Dan and Laurence.
