25th April 2025

Friday 25th April 2025

Dear parent/carer,

It was absolutely brilliant to open the gates to North Town on Tuesday to so many smiling and excited children. It says a lot! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break with your families and friends.

This week has been a busy with a Greek Day for Year 5 (what brilliant costumes), area netball finals and much more. A huge congratulations to our netball team on winning the area finals in a thrilling final against Parkfield. A tremendous achievement!

I was absolutely thrilled to be visited by George in New Rock Pippins who beautifully read ‘Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book’ to me. George was thrilled with his ‘Mr Braund sticker.’ I was also really delighted to see Amelia from Kingston Black and her reaction to getting a ‘Mr Braund sticker’ for her amazing descriptive writing and another ‘Mr Braund sticker’ for her beautiful reading. Well done to both George and Amelia – I am so proud of you!

Have a smashing weekend everyone!

Good Luck Mr Grave

I am sure you will all join me in wishing Mr Grave all the very best in running the London Marathon on Sunday! We know you will breeze through it and we very much look forward to hearing about it all next week. Mr Grave’s bib number is 39362 if anyone wanted to track how he goes.

Sports Events

A group of Y5/6’s took part in the county netball finals on Thursday afternoon, competing against the best schools in and around the area. The team played brilliantly, showing fantastic teamwork and determination. Their efforts paid off and finished 1st overall out of the 12 schools that were invited to the finals. Winning 4 and drawing 1 in their group meant they went on to beat Parkfield 2-1 in a thrilling final. A huge well done to Percie, Elsie, Kayla, Bobbi, Tom, Jools, Carys and Rufus! We are all so proud of you!

Disco

Just a reminder that it is our first DISCO of 2025 on Friday 7th March. The PTA will be sending out letters next week. The times are:

KS1 Disco: 5pm – 5:45pm

Year 3 and 4 Disco: 6pm – 6:45pm

Year 5 and 6 Disco: 7:00 – 7:45pm

Our gates will not open for each disco until the starting time and we ask that only parents collecting from wraparound or the end of the KS1 disco come onto the premises at this time. We ask that everyone else waits in the courtyard at the front of the school until the staff open the gates for the start of the DISCO.
