Friday 28th March
Dear Parents and Carers,
The spring term has gone so quickly! Just a reminder that the last day of term next week is Thursday 3rd April. We return after the holidays on Tuesday 22nd April.
Thank you once again for your support with exploring funding opportunities. As a result of this we have secured £5000 worth of funding to improve our Key Stage Two playground offer. I also have a meeting with a parent and a company next week to discuss match funding. I am absolutely thrilled with this news and cannot thank the community enough for your kindness and support.
Have a smashing weekend!
Best wishes,
Mr Braund
Mrs Hayes
Mrs Hayes goes on maternity leave at the end of the spring term. We wish Kate all the very best and we are all very excited to hear the news of the arrival of Baby Hayes. All the very best Kate.
Mrs Lister will be covering Mrs Hayes’ maternity leave until the end of the summer term. Mrs Lister will be teaching in Court Royal from next week to allow Mrs Hayes to have some management time.
School Premises Updates
I continue to be delighted with the changes to the front of the school with the new walk way to the nursery and the approach to the school from the Staplegrove Road entrance.
The coming weeks and months will see some more changes. The School House will become our new office base. This will free up more room in the school.
The nursery will be having air conditioning installed and new flooring laid outside.
We are also going to be having some additional astro laid at the far end of the school (as you walk towards Miss Newstead’s classroom and also by the fenced off tree near where I stand in the morning.)
Exciting times!
Lost Property
Please check our lost property for any of your child’s missing items. Any unclaimed lost property will be donated to charity at the end of Thursday 3rd April.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU NAME ALL OF YOUR CHILD’S ITEMS.
Sports Events
On Monday, Arthur, George C, George P, Ollie, Tom, Leilani, Austin and Sonia all represented the school in a cross-country event at Kings. Everyone tried their hardest which was great to see, and with some fantastic times as well!
Yesterday, we had a handball event with the other primary schools in the Trust at Richard Huish College. We took 10 children who all played half of each game. They had to organise their positions and tactics within their groups. Everyone showed great teamwork and determination to do all of this. Well done to our team – Bobbi, Will, Arthur Tom, Issy, Priya, George C, George P, Ollie and Jools.
Sports Kit
Please can any of the sports performance tops (the green Joma tops and the green and black hooped tops) be returned to school please, as we are missing a few.
