Dear Parents and Carers,
What glorious weather to welcome us back to school after half term! I hope you all had a wonderful break. It has been a smashing first week back. We held our ‘new intake meeting’ on Wednesday evening. It was a lovely evening with many excited parents looking forward to their children starting at North Town. It was brilliant to see existing parents that have children starting in September attending the meeting as well.
Thank you for your kind chocolate donations this morning – I offered to keep them all in my office 😊
Wishing you all a super weekend.
Best wishes,
Mark Braund
Timings of the School Day from September
From September, we will no longer be having staggered start times at North Town. The gates will open at 8:40 for all children and will close at 8:50. All children will be able to walk to class at 8:40 instead of waiting on the playground. The school day will finish for everyone at 3:15pm.
Wraparound Booking Procedure Reminder
After a successful half term of our new wraparound provision, we would like to politely remind all parents of the requirement to book any sessions required in advance, please do not send your child to wraparound without confirming the booking first. If you are too late to book, you must contact the office and make the necessary arrangements.
On the reverse side of this, if your child is booked in for wraparound and they will not be attending please let the team know by emailing wraparound@nt.huish.education or by calling 07566 733010.
Where the office team have made a booking on your behalf, the expectation is for the parent to access the MCAS app and pay the outstanding amount as soon as possible. For parents who may already have outstanding amounts, please be aware that we will be unable to make future bookings for you until you have paid and uploaded a sufficient credit to cover the outstanding amount and subsequent bookings.
North Town Wrap Around
The wraparound contact telephone number is 07566 733010 . This will be on during the hours the provision will be open. Please also use this number when coming to collect your child in the evenings when arriving at the Staplegrove Road gate. We will eventually have a gate buzzer but unfortunately this has been delayed.
We also have a contact email address: wraparound@nt.huish.education for any queries you may have. Please do not expect a reply outside of the normal school hours.
Parents Information Box
In our information box this week you will find information about the safe use of Roblox. Please help yourself to information.
The box is situated on the wall outside the Reception Office window.
Year 3 Art Workshops
As part TYCA (Taunton Youth Culture and Arts) Festival or Year 3 children have recently been taking part in art workshops.
The results of these workshops are now on display at the Brewhouse Theatre if you would like to go and see the children’s work. The theatre is open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
You may also be interested to know that the TYCA festival takes place tomorrow, more information can be found at the bottom of the newsletter.
KS1 – Rucksacks and Resources
A gentle reminder that our children in KS1 do not require a rucksack, all they should be bringing to school are their book bags, drinks bottle and snack and lunchbox (if not having a school lunch)
The rucksacks take up too much room in the class middle areas, many of them are too big for the children and we are finding that precious schoolbooks and resources are being ruined due to leaking water bottles. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
